20 August 2007 - Getting Close to Summer's End
Hello cats and dogs,
A quickie from Mr h to say that the boys and I hope you're having a good summer. Half of Europe seems to have been flooded at some point so we're also hoping that you survived and that you have your water wings handy by the back door.
The festival season has arrived and we enjoyed the brief romp around at Europe. A high point for me was at Pinkpop.. the gig, of course, but also having a chance to chat to the legend that is Steve Harley (up there with Bowie, Ian Dury and Ray Davies in my book) and to catch Cockney Rebel's set which was excellent. The sun shone all day long and I had a wander around the festival site and chatted to a fair few of you. On Friday night we were sandwiched between Ten Years After and Status Quo on the Festival of Wine at Colmar in France.
We'll be in the studio this week checking out Mike Hunter's ongoing mix of the London Forum show from the Somewhere Else tour (which sounds great so far!)
For the moment, Marillion's live activities will pause until November/December when we'll be treading the boards once more on our short Snow-Where Else Christmas Tour late in the year - until then we'll be in the studio with Mike finishing writing and recording Album 15.
HOWEVER, at the weekends I'll be jumping on planes or in cars to perform a second series of live h Natural shows. I'll be in Germany, Holland, Italy, UK and Spain. These shows have been intimate, personal and sensitive occasions, and a chance for me to have a conversation with the audience as well as to choose songs at will "in the moment" and respond to requests. Ticket info is, as usual, in the TOUR section of the Marillion Website.

You may also be interested to know that we recently signed up to Nokia's Royal Artist Club to launch the official Marillion "MoBlog".
Updates (in the form of photos and videos) are sent direct from our phones, as they happen, wherever we are in the world.
The five of us will be uploading personal blogs from time to time. So if you want to know exactly who's doing what, where, and with whom, have a look..
See you soon then, loves
