Racket Club Studio Update : Taking Shape
Well I've just about finished the guitars on the new album. This always an exciting time as you see the songs grow and develop into something quite special. I have a very good feeling about this record. The combination of us working with Dave Meagan again and the fact that we are licensing the album to EMI has given me cause for great optimism for its future. The album has a strength and a vibe that for me surpasses anything we've yet done.
On the technical side I've been using a variety of guitars but mainly a Blade stratocaster and an Ibanez semi acoustic through my Trio pre amp and Lexicon MPX G2 effects processor. Dave's great engineering and producing skills have helped us create an album that is sonically rich, diverse and quite contemporary. The ten-and-a-half-minute-long "Twenty First Century" stands out as a favourite at the moment.
