This 'Best Of' compilation released on EMI covers the band's career from 1982 to 1997.

This release was a 'teaser' for the remastered versions of all the Marillion EMI studio albums which were released from 1997 to 1999.

During its initial release, two double-disc vinyl picture-disc releases were issued - one covering the Fish songs, and the other all the H songs.
