Christmas Is Coming

Sitting in the dressing room which had the distinct atmosphere of a call centre (everyone tapping into laptops) until Deep Purple's Don Airey poked his head through the door to say hello. Thoroughly nice chap. Oldenburg tonight. They auction cattle in this hall.. Voice holding up well.

4 shows to go. Time flies when you're having fun. DP tour going really well and Marillos all in good spirits.

Soon I'll be back home for frantic solo rehearsals for Christmas gigs solo.

No rest for the wicked..

See you soon somewhere hopefully.. Check out my dates if you couldn't get to Germany. I might even sing you "Smoke On The Water"..

Arrived in snowy Stuttgart for a day off before our last show supporting Deep Purple. I think we might have picked up a few new fans on this tour. On the whole the audiences have been very enthusiastic and the Deep Purple band and crew have been a pleasure to work with. Strange only playing for an hour and Sunday night we were on stage at 7pm which always feels weird. Off to the Christmas market later for a bit of shopping. Looking forward to sleeping in a bed tonight. Anyone who thinks sleeping on a tour bus sounds like fun should try it for three weeks! The ventilation fans above my bunk sound like a 747 taking off!

Looking forward to getting home on Wednesday.

Steve

The tour has gone really well and we have gone down much better than I think we anticipated so Thank you if you were one of the people who saw us and enjoyed the show. I know it was short and sweet for Marillion. We tried to fit in as many aspects of our music as we could and I think we got it right on that score. Deep Purple and their crew have been fantastic and really nice people to be on tour with, which makes the the whole thing go well.

Anyway enough of that, I've just been to the Gym and ran for 10k. Not bad I thought. It is snowing and I am off to the Christmas market in a bit. Looking out my bedroom window I feel like I could be in Narnia. I hope it's safe out there !
